A top coat... Is it a masculine piece? Absolutely. Should you shy away from it because of this? Absolutely not! When I saw that the ultra masculine top coat was making its way into women's fashion, I was overjoyed. I love the challenge that arises when you borrow pieces or styles that typically are just for the fellas. Taking those pieces and making them look feminine is just so much fun. Do you like top coats? How would you wear one?

Today, I am taking it back to the 90's with this grunge influenced look. If you are anything like me, you love the recent trend consisting of a plaid shirt tied around the waist of an outfit. I did some research, and I decided to compile a list of my three favorite ways to rock this look. Here is what I have come up with. I hope it helps you guys out! Let me know.
3 Ways to Wear
1. Wrapping the Shirt around your Jeans
This is the most common way to pull of the plaid wrap look. Add your favorite leather jacket or hat for that perfect grungy feel. Mix it up with flats, boots or heels.
2. Wrapping the Shirt around a Skirt or Shorts
While this isn't the most practical look for cooler months, it is an interesting one to note. Try pairing it with a basic neutral color top tone the look down. Sometimes, less is more!
3. Wrapping the Shirt around a Dress (like me)
This is a great way to get a casual-chic look when you feel like wearing a dress but don't want to look to to refined. An important thing to remember is, this look will not work with all types of dresses. Typically, a bodycon or t-shirt dress would be the best option.

I have an addiction, nay an obsession with blazers. I love blazers so much that I am honestly too embarrassed to admit how many I actually have hanging in my closet right now. As ridiculous as that may seem, I really do wear a blazer all the time! No matter the circumstance, blazers are truly an appropriate item that can be worn in so many different ways. The blazer featured in this post is the newest member of the family. When I saw this bad boy at J. Crew, I knew it would find a cozy little home with me. Do you love blazers? What is your favorite way to pair them?

Well ladies, after a very very very long hiatus, I'm back and ready to blog. My reasons for taking a break really aren't that significant or special. I honestly just got really busy with life and had very little time to devote to my little space on the net. I felt that if I wasn't going to put forth my best effort, I needed to step back and take a break. I still do not have the time to post every day (or even every other day) but I missed this creative outlet of mine and my blog buddies. So here's to a fresh start!
