Sit-Down Style Session #1...

 

Lauren and I are so happy to present this month's Sit-Down Style Session featured blogger! *drumroll please* It's Jessi of Haircut and General Attitude! Not only is Jessi absolutely gorgeous and oh-so-stylish, she is also one of the sweetest bloggers you will meet.

  

1. Describe your style in 3 words:

Girly, fun and a bit vintage!

2. Why did you start blogging?

I've always been interested in the world of beauty and over the last few years I started to really LOVE fashion. I loved playing in my closet and creating outfit. I discovered style blogging and started following a few great blogs like Delightfully Tacky and Selective Potential. I felt like this was my place. My sweet Hubby told me to go for it and really helped me find the courage to get started. I jumped into this new world knowing nothing and I learn and improve  more every day. I truly love it!

3. What do you like best about blogging and what are your goals for the future?

I like getting to share what I create and being part of such an awesome community! I love getting inspiration from other bloggers and hopefully inspiring a few people myself. I love all the friends I've made and all the opportunities that have come along. I hope to keep perfecting my blog, the design, the photography, etc. I hope to keep meeting new friends and inspiring people and I hope to one day go to New York Fashion Week! Now THAT would be awesome.

4. Pick 3 favorite outfits and describe why they are your favorite.

It's feminine and romantic. SO me. I love the textures, the tulle and the pearl shoulders. -original post-

It's comfy while still keeping stylish. I love the combo of a graphic sweater over a frilly collared blouse--and any excuse to wear leggings in public! -original post-

This one is one of those fun looks that just came together with a little playing in the closet! I love wearing shorts over black tights and this cardi (borrowed from a friend) was too darling! Plus, I'm kind of obsessed with my cute rain boots. -original post-

5. When not blogging what do you do?

I love seeking adventure with my darling Hubby and exploring new places. I like depressing music, funny movies, craft nights and nighttime runs. I also work full time at a bank, but that's boring, you don't want to know that. ;)

6. You can only shop at one store the rest of your life... What would it be?

This is way too unfair... Honestly, I don't think I could! But if I HAD to choose I'm thinking ModCloth would be a good choice! They have a huge selection, and lots of fun, unique pieces to choose from. Plus, they've kinda got my style down pat.

Sit-Down Style Session...

I am so excited to announce a collaboration with Lauren of Style of One's Own: the monthly Sit-Down Style Session! Here's how it works... every second Friday of the month we'll be hosting a link-up. Show off your fashion/style blog by linking to your favorite post. Then check out other fabulous bloggers and socialize while we choose a blogger to feature in next month's Sit-Down Style Session! The chosen blogger will answer a few fun questions and choose some favorite outfits to show off. Her post will be featured on The Brandied Pair and Style of One's Own the following month where we'll do it all over again! I'm Lauren! I started Style of One's Own in 2013 to chronicle my pursuit of style. As a California girl I'd always gotten away with the anything goes attitude but I realized that as I approached my mid-20s I really didn't have a 'style'. Starting in 2012 I built a versatile and budget-friendly wardrobe, learned mixing and matching through a lot of trial and error, and in the process developed a style of my own.

1. Describe your style in 3 words.
Colorful, feminine, fun.

2. Why did you start blogging?
I've always tinkered with blogging about something, going all the way back to Xanga (let's hope those blogs never see the light of day!). Blogging is my creative outlet. It's also been a great way to share my new-found passion/pursuit of style. Hence the name Style of One's Own.

3. What do you like best about blogging and what are your goals for the future?
The best part of blogging has got to be the kindness and camaraderie of fellow bloggers. Who says women have to be competitive and catty? All the bloggers I've had the pleausre of 'meeting' are nothing but sweet and supportive. As for the future... In a perfect world I could make a living off of blogging and spend my days styling, writing, and editing away with a cup of tea in hand. More realistic future goals include expanding my blog and doing more collaborations. Someday I would love to write an eBook.

4. Pick 3 favorite outfits and describe why they are your favorite.

I love this outfit because 1) mint and 2) polka dots. Most of the time my outfit ideas come from a color or pattern mix that I think goes well together. And there is just something easy and classy about a blazer over a collared shirt!

Kelly green has quickly become just about my favorite color. I love the combination of the damask print crops, lacy white tank, and bright blazer.

This dotted cardigan from GAP is one of my favorite items of clothing. The print and colors are just so fun. I also really like the addition of the bow which comes from a neck-tie blouse.

5. When not blogging what do you do?
I'm a beauty school dropout turned English/Communications grad who ended up in the finance industry. Currently I am working on my teaching credential on the side so that I can teach high school English Language Arts. Between the credential program, working full time, and blogging I don't have a lot of free time! When I do have free time I love to read, garden (I'm a little old lady at heart!), watch old movies or Dexter, and waste spend hours on Pinterest and Instagram. I also have a boyfriend of three years (any day now, babe!) and two sweet pups, Molly and Kate.

6. You can only shop at one store the rest of your life...What would it be?
Going to cheat a little by saying Nordstrom! That way I'd have access to a wide variety of brands I love such as Kate Spade (gotta get my handbag fix) and my Paige Denim (aka my uniform pants).
