Can I just say that I have a love hate relationship with maxi skirts and dresses. On one hand, they are comfortable and chic. On the other hand, they are very limiting in the shoe department. It seems that all I can wear with a maxi dress or skirt is a flat pair of sandals...Boring! If you know me, you know that I love heels. I love how they make me look so much taller and leaner; Yet, I do not like the look of heels paired with a maxi dress or skirt. So, today I am asking all of you for advice. In regards to footwear, I need alternative options that can be worn with a maxi dress or skirt. Please help me!
Happy Wednesday!

Ooh, I don't know. I feel the same way about footwear and maxi skirts. I always wear flats and I don't like the way heels look with maxis. Maybe wedges? Or flatforms?
ReplyDeleteI love your necklace paired with your shirt. Jewels + denim = awesome.
You have the same feelings I do! Why is this so difficult? lol
DeleteThank you! They are so limited in the shoe department! I have a couple of skirts that I can't wear with flats but I also can't wear them with heels! It's so frustrating!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I know it! So irritating!!
DeleteLove this look. I normally wear flats with my maxi skirt as well. I think wedges would like great as well but they don't work for me since my legs are super long and the maxi just wouldn't be a maxi if I wore them! You look fab! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly my problem...long legs :/
DeleteI agree - I don't love heels with maxis either...maybe a wedge would be a good compromise? Or some espadrilles with a wedge? Anyway - love the chambray and love that gorgeous necklace...you look so cute!

espadrilles would work! Great idea!!
DeleteI say wedges are the way to go for sure, that's my vote :)

I have very long legs, I am worried the maxi will no longer be a maxi if I wear wedges :/
DeleteLOVE this look! Absolutely in love with that bag - what a great accent color for this look! And those shoes are so cute! And that necklace! Gorgeous!!

Aw Annick, thanks so much for your kind words!
DeleteYour sandals are adorable though! Why not trying a wedge sandal, I think that would look too! I love how you styled your maxi skirt, looks adorable with the tied chambray :)

That is a great idea!!
DeleteI've never seen chambray this color! It's so pretty and looks great against the beautiful black maxi! Love the chunky statement necklace and the way you tied the shirt too. Very feminine and on trend. :)

wow! you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI saw someone already mentioned espadrilles. That and a mini wedged sandal. Like a kitten wedge... if that's such a thing. Kinda like this: http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=92896&vid=1&pid=945828012
ReplyDeleteThey're similar to the pair you're wearing, just with a slight heel.
Those are adorable! Thanks for the advice!!
DeleteI'm with you on that dilemma. I always feel like when I pair heels heels with maxi dresses or skirts it brings the dress/skirt up to weird height so its no longer maxi its more high water-ish. I'll have to scroll through the previous comments and see what advice others have. I love your gorgeous necklace paired with the chambray top. So pretty!

Wedges! I don't have any maxi dresses because finding ones that don't require hemming for my 5'3"ness is difficult, but I'd wear my wedges with them if I did!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThanks lady!!
DeleteOooh! I think the statement necklace adds a nice touch to the shirt and the maxi skirts adds some comfort to the look. :)
