Over the past weekend, my family hosted an amazing graduation party for my brother, Jake.  Jake is a talented musician and avid concergoer, so the venue my parents choose (the famous Georgia Theater located in Athens, GA.) was beyond perfect for this unique graduation party.  Jake was surrounded by people that loved him, in a location that he loved.  This proved to be the perfect combination for a wonderful graduation party.

This past week my baby brother, Jake, graduated from high school.  I say “baby” because 6 years separate the two of us.   I vividly remember so many little details about my brother’s life.  I remember the day he was born. I remember his creepy ET doll. I remember when he lost his first tooth. Heck, I even remember when he spilled red nail polish on the new carpet.  This boy, or should I say young man, has grown up in front of my eyes, and I am so proud to be his big sister.  Congratulations on everything you have accomplished so far buddy.  I know you will continue to succeed in everything that you do.  I love you so much that “if I jumped up I would never come down.”  Congratulations Jacob and the Class of 2013.

For those of you who are acquainted with me, you know that polka dots are my go to print.  I am kind of embarrassed to admit how many polka dot items I have hanging in my closet right now; however, if you ask me, polka dots are perfect for any and every occasion.

Denim on denim (or chambray in this case) could be a scary combination if the two items are of the same wash; however, a two-toned combination will create a canvas to highlight your favorite accessories. So double up on the denim!

A Roman Holiday...

 

This year, for our third anniversary, Jordan and I were fortunate enough to visit Rome, Italy.  We had the most amazing time! The history, the people, and the food (we literally ate gelato twice a day for the entire trip) were all out of this world. Hopefully, one day soon, we will make it back to this beautiful and magical city; however, for now, Jordan’s lovely pictures will do just fine. Ciao!

Mint has always been a favorite color of mine, and this spring it seems to be everywhere.  Don’t be afraid to incorporate a hint of mint into your everyday wardrobe--be it adorable mint flats, a sweet mint cardigan, or (in my case) some sassy mint jeans.

Sometimes the word casual has negative connotations.  Personally, I think that you can dress comfortably and casually while still looking completely put together.  Keeping things basic and focusing on your favorite feminine details are the key to a perfect casual outfit for an afternoon of shopping with the girls.
