Guest Post: Blake...

Have you ever wondered why a stylish man can be such a head turner?  Well, if you ask me, it is because we are so used to seeing men dress poorly.  I personally think this is a shame.  I am so thankful my husband has his own sense of style and can dress himself (believe it or not, my husband looks better than me 99% of the time).  I know there are some truly amazing men's fashion blogs out there, but do you think your husband or significant other is really going to look to them for advice? Thus, I plan on occasionally sharing some manly fashion tips and introducing you to some fashion forward gents.  Speaking of which, meet Blake.  Blake is a young man that I think very highly of.  He has such a bold and creative sense of style, I always find myself loving his wardrobe choices. Well, without further ado, take it away Blake...

Jenn, Thanks for asking me to be a guest on The Brandied Pair.  Shooting the pictures was so cool!
I don't pretend to know about guys clothing, I just know what I like.  I choose this outfit because I think it important to understand that you don't have to be going someplace special to dress nice.  To be honest, this is what I like to hang out in.  Hope to see you guys soon!

Sparkles...

Top: JCrew│Skirt: JCrew old (similar here)│Heels: JCrew│Necklace: JCrew (JCrew inspired here) │Bracelet: JCrew│Earrings: Tiffany & Co.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved things that sparkled; however, as I have aged, it has become increasingly difficult to pull off sparkly attire without looking somewhat juvenile.  Thankfully, JCrew has saved the day with the Collection No. 2 pencil skirt in houndstooth sequin.  My best friend found this classic cut beauty for me while we were shopping at the JCrew Warehouse sale in Arden, North Carolina.  The best part of this find (other than the endless styling possibilities) is that I got a $695 skirt for $40.  Your welcome Jordan...
Happy Tuesday!

Maxi Skirt...

In my opinion, maxi skirts are like a good pair of jeans. They both possess a versatility and comfort that can be dressed up or down depending on your specific needs. If you haven’t given a Maxi skirt a try yet, please do.  I promise you will not be disappointed.
Happy Monday!

Guest Post: Ingrid...

It is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Ingrid, a lady that I truly aspire to be like. Ingrid is a classy, beautiful woman that always dresses to the nine’s. She is one of my mother’s closest friends and a true role model.  If you can believe it, Ingrid has a 20 year old son! What a knock out! Ingrid, take it away...

First, I would like to thank Jenn for the great time I had preparing this post. Thanks so much!!

When Jenn asked me to be on her blog, I was scared to death; but, I thought this is one of my favorite new blogs, so why not?  It was SO much fun. Jenn made me feel very comfortable.  I chose this outfit because, to me, it was so cheery.  I wanted to go out on a limb and mix patterns without looking crazy.  So, this is my take on it.  I hope you enjoy it!

Corilynn...

I have always loved the look of classic silhouettes on a woman's figure.  In my opinion, there is nothing more flattering than a high waisted A-line skirt.  Thank goodness for Corilynn, a wonderful little shop that creates fantastic, handmade skirts in multiple prints and colors, all the while sticking to this classic shape.  Check the shop out and let me know what you think.
Happy Monday!

Check out Corilynn's blog, la vie petite.  Her family is the cutest!!

The Denim Jacket...

Dress: JCrew Factory old (similar style here)│Jacket: American EagleSandals: old (love these)│Bag: Kate Spade old (love this fiery number)│Necklace: JCrew (JCrew inspired version here)│Bracelets: Kate Spade and Ily Couture │Watch: Kate SpadeEarrings: Tiffany's & Co.

I would like to talk about my love affair with the classic denim jacket. This gender neutral piece goes with virtually anything:  Skirts, Shorts, Cropped Pants, or Maxi Dresses (as I am demonstrating today).  Really, adding a denim jacket to any outfit is the simplest way to create new look with a traditional flare.
Happy Friday!
Jenn

I was selected to be apart of the lovely Christina’s, from Simple Easy Style, Friday Link-Up.  Check her out she is fantastic!
